RCMD Rotahack!

 RCMD Rotahack!

The project is not new. We started this project way back in 2015 by doing IT seminars and hackathons in some universities in the country. But just last year, we started the regular execution of this project. For 2022, we are tagging the project as Rotahack.

With the lockdown, COVID-19 has affected  technology in our daily lives as well as cybersecurity in  cyberspace.

Every year, the total number of internet users has continuously increased. Because of this, most of the criminals also converted their activities online. Lots of online scams have existed and cyber crimes are now very rampant. However, a lot of people using the internet are still not aware of what's going on.

To solve this issue, we created the project "Rotahack" in which the aim is to create a professional but fun way of educating people on how they can be protected online and how they can use the internet effectively and safely.

Last October 21, we started the first RCMD Rotahack activity for 2021. We invited Mr. Art Samaniego, the Technology Editor & IT Head of the Manila Bulletin, a Tech Support Professional, and a Cybersecurity Analyst. The event gathered almost 80 attendees from difference Rotary Clubs in D3780, military and professionals.  Our speaker shared to the audience his advocacy on "How to avoid online scams" by sharing practical tips that are also timely to fight  online scamming activity by cybercriminals. It was really fun and full of learning.

After the event, RCMD gave some raffle prices to the audience ie. Hackers T-shirts and cash prices to make the event more memorable.

We thank our sponsors and individuals who supported this event, this will not be possible without your help.

Our Club, RC Midtown Diliman, will always be grateful for the time and resources that you have given us.

We really appreciate it.

RCMD will continue to spread the good news and do our part in protecting cyberspace.

Rotahack will always be here!
