Lately, sobrang napagod ata yung team namin. Ako kasi pagod na pagod ako..bikod sa recording na ginawa namin para sa Dekada. May mga projects pang kasabayan iyon sa 8layer naman. Mga installation ng tinatawag naming NITIX program, Deployment ng mga customize na solution pati asterisk na ngayo’y lalo akong nag eenjoy lalo’t pat iyon na yung gamit naming ngayon sa aming opis. Sa wakes! Dati pa kasi itong plano pero tangal at alis dahil sa mga problema sa hardare at mga kung ano ano pang mga kadahilanan.

Kaya ngayon, ginagwa ko nalang para maaliw yung sarili ko.
Minamakesure ko na walang gabi akong hindi nagaaral. ENJOY EH! Sarap magbasa ng mga bagaybagay..ngayon bumababad ako sa mga libro ng asterisk.

Tapos, kasabay ng pagaaral. Paulit ulit kong pinapakingan din yung mga kanta nicompose naming sa dekada. Iba kasi yung feeling pag kanta mo na yung pinakikingan mo. Iba ang ORIG! dami kasi dyan..kopya di lang sa music..kahit sa IT. Content nga sa web kopya lang tapos papalitan lang yung pangalan ng orihinal na gumawa ng pangalan nila..ewan ko ba..bat may mga ganung company simpleng bagay..di magawa.

Minsan naman, binabalik balikan ko yung mga picture na pinagkukuha ko kung saan saan..mga kuha sa GIG ng dekada,ensayo, picture ng mga mahal sa buhay at picture ng mga aktibidades sa 8layer. Nananariwa kasi yung mga pangyayari pag nakikita ko yung mga larawan. Minsan yung mga dating download naman yung pinapanood ko..tulad ng SBC at kwentong superfriends ni maritess..hehehe

Yes. 8layer has sponsored to initiate and produce a live recording and compile the songs to make an album to be released this year. The group De Kada (some members of which are also from 8layer) has been formed just to share a glimpse of our passion. The group started to write a few tunes about anything after work, go to a friend’s house at Roxas to do some raw recording. Until one time, we started to record demos for our own delight and listening. At one point some of our musically inclined friends encouraged us to produce the music on our own and share the same to other people.

For the 8layer Team, leading an IT line of work and profession demands pressure, time, serious and tough thinking most of the times.

And having music (though we take music seriously as well) in our life makes everyday more pleasing, harmonious and gives us a perspective of life being itself a challenge with essence.

Kanina habang nag dodownload ako ng bagong version ng SCALIX na iiimplement namin sa isang client/kaibigan sa cagayan de oro. Medyo nabasa basa ako ng mga emails ko..nakita ko yung email sa akin ni tito oscar (si tito oscar yugn bunsong kapatid nila papa) nakita ko na inimail nya pala sa akin yung mga email address ng tita nene ko at ng isang pinsan kong si avegail.

Nung makailan kasi galing ako ng zambales kasi nakiramay kami sa pagkamatay ng isang lola naming na si lola indo. Medyo malunkot pero ang magandang nangyari naman eh nagkaroon ng maliit na pagkakataon na mag kikita an gaming mga lahi..reunion.

Tapos iyon nga..habang naghihintay matapos yung ndinodownload ko nagkaroon ako ng pagkakataong makausap ang aking pinsan..sa chat! Para kay nanay!

Ang bilis ng panahon, kailan lang eh inaalagaan ako ni “nanay” pag pumapasok si mama at si papa sa opisina. Si nanay din ang nagtuturo sa aking gumawa ng sumang “moron”, mag luto ng ampao,maglupak at magtanim sa bakuran.

Si nanay nga pala: yung lola ko na nanay ng mama ko. Lumaki kasi kaming nana yang tawag sa kanya.

Sya rin ang nagbabasa ng biblia sa amin pag sapit ng gabi. Sya yung aming lider sa pagdadasal habang nakaluhod sa altar at may hawak na rosario.

Pag may mga libreang oras kami sa tanghali, sya yung nag iinspeksyon ng mga ulo naming para tingnan or kutkutin yung mga ulo naming dahil sa lisa….kasi naman mga batang araw kami nung bata pa kami. Habang nagpapatulog magsisimula na sya mag kweto at mangaral sa amin.

Naalala ko yung mga pangaral nya sa akin.

The Sun Beams at 8Layer

8Layer Technologies, Inc., on its 3^nd year, has taken another step to further strengthen the bond within. On April 28-30, the key movers of 8Layer went to Sunbeam Marine Sports Resorts in Anilao, Batangas—the sun, the sea and the sands of summer bearing witness to the group’s hard-earned reward.

Apart from enjoying the weekend, the group also learned from CEO Meric Mara who reiterated the group’s unique approach and methodology making the company a force to reckon with when it comes to Open Source technology. He briefly discussed the company’s vision to collaborate not only with IT practitioners but also reach out to the people and educate them about the value of IT, especially Open Source.

But, he further stressed, to be an effective and efficient IT organization, each member of the team should first seek to involve one’s self in the company’s goals and objectives. To which he added that understanding and imbibing the 8Layer philosophy is also a key before one can successfully take part in the company’s processes—one of them being meeting and exceeding partners’ and clients’ expectations.

From here, COO Deng Silorio guided the group in assessing each team member’s tasks and KRAs which the group took in as an appetizer before they eventually went to taste what Anilao, the diving paradise, has to offer. However, a day was not enough to truly experience the fishes, the corals and the reefs but the group did have nice memories (and bruises!) to bring home.

The 8Layer bonding weekend, as any other flitting happy moment, ended while the sun was beaming with a promise: this will surely happen again. Of course, it will! As Deng puts it, team building is a process.

Anilao is just a pit stop.

Naaalala ko kasi minsan nagturo at nasalita ako sa mga taga 8layer. Part ng tinatawag namin knowledge sharing yung tungkol sa ano ba ang 8layer? Tapos diniskas ko din dun yugn tinatawag na kultura yung corporate strategies at kung ano ano pa tulad ng process/CMMI mga produkto naming na inooffer sa clients at kung paano ba ito tingnan o paano ito sa mata ng kliyente. Madaming magagandang salita.

Sana madami silang natutunan dun. Sa totoo lang...ang success talaga ng isang bagay eh wala sa mga nakalatag sa documento processo at kung ano pa..ang magic talaga eh nasa execution. Parang isang BANDA sa musika. Ika nga..(natutunan ko ito kay Erwin habang nagcoconduct kami ng konti teambuilding nung nag a-outing kami sa batangas) na kung gusto mo matawag na magaling na banda..kukuha ka dapat ng mga magagaling sa iba ibang instrumento..hindi puro magagaling ka keybordista. Pang nanagyari kasi iyon..magiging maganda na ang tunog ng musika...at ayun ang magic!

“Making IT happen” is another issue. Kailangan kasi pag nagsama sama kayo..dapat ma make sure lang na laging may output. Or else, bat pa kayo nagsama sama.

Kaya nga pag nakakita ka ng ganung tao (KADUGO AT KAPEREHAS MO). Matuwa ka..dahil bibihira lang..ako masaya ako ngayon..kasi nakita ko na yung mga “TUNAY” na kasama ko sa bakbakan…KOKONTI LANG KAMI!..maraming kliyente/kaibigan at mga ang natutuwa at nagpapasalamat. Marami na kasing nanlokong kaibigan..gagamitin ka lang pag kailangan pag nakuha na nila yung gusto nila..at may mga gusto silang gawin..di lingid sa iyong kaalaman..nagawa na..problema na..kaya IINGAT DIN KAYO!

Nakakamiss itong BLOG ko ah, masyado akong naging busy itong nakaraang buwan. sa mga presentation, pag cocoduct ng seminar sa ibat'ibat lugar at syempre sa paggawa ng mga bagong systema na makakatulong di lang sa organisasyon ng 8layer kundi sa mga tao..lalo na sa mga pilipino. (Eduskasyon)

naalala ko lang kung paano nagsimula yung 8layer na ito.
parang isang pangarap. suntok sa buwan...BAHALA NA! ganun pa dati.
ang puhunan lang, matatag na paniniwala at pagmamahal sa trabaho.

ang bilis ng panahon..lahat nag bago..ang formula..tamang tao..tamang kasama...matatag sa panimulain..walang urungan..walang atrasan..para sa nakakarami..tamang focus..tamang paggamit ng panahon..tamang desiplina..tapos..paglalatag ng mga ito at mag bibigay ng prayoridad..SWAK na..pagpapahalaga sa mga pangangailangan ng mga kliyente yung mga ngiti nila..yung matulungan silang maging kampante sa negosyo nila..wala o maliliit na alalahanin..iyong pala talaga iyon! nais ko lang i shre itong letter na ito..ito yung PROUD ako ishare..napagdaanan namin..patas na pakikibaka...ang sarap lang dahil sa pag takbo ng panahon..maynapapatutunguhan. may masayang kaganapan.

It’s a cliché but what can I say…. How time flies.

At two years, we are not only walking… we are hiking and climbing.

And with that, we are overwhelmed with gratitude for the support and belief that you have bestowed upon us. And all the more our firm belief is strengthened that we are on the right track. The only way to repay this debt is to work hard not to falter and fail your expectations.

Though the year was not entirely pure sweetness, it is by large a plenty in terms of depth and breadth; of reach and enrichment.

As we step into the third year, id like to take a glimpse and share with you our leaps or milestones that are dear to us:

• We participated in a number of events all over the country, some of them really big ones
• Got really huge accounts and clients (sorry in as much as id like to mention them.. the list may fill up the whole page…. Hehehehe)
• Deployed high level IT requirements, such as connecting 6-8 remote offices; using NITIX and 8layer’s Asterisk Solutions (8layer is now a major player in Asterisk Solutions in the country)
• Moved to our new and bigger office at Ortigas
• Became an INTEL Channel Partner
• Partnership with Censornet
• Had a number of our homegrown Back-up Solution deployments (our COO calls it, MERIX Back-up Solution)
• Participated in a lot of Schools, event trainings and speaking engagements
• Before the second year culminated, we have just launched the BIGBiz Technology with INTEL.
• Launch of NITIX Blue
• Got a new ride for us (‘yung RED…)
• Our processes continues to improve and be documented
• Our beams and spirits higher…
• A number of really great people have joined our team… What a year!

We are also waiting for the implementation of a very sound marketing program on Integrated Solutions and with that our team’s going for a weekend dive and team building in Batangas (sama kayo!).

We were never disoriented nor lost the sight of the goal to always serve you with optimum competence and to share with sincerity what we know, on what IT is all about and how one can actually take advantage of IT in doing one’s work or business.

We had pitfalls and among our major learnings are:

• To improve our hiring process (by the way, we have our new Communications Manager, JaJa Del Rosario, our new Admin- Roz Vargas,our New Marketing Executive – Katz Encisa and the rest of the gang who are still coming to join us).
• We have grown to realize to live up to our name, that is 8layer… that though this is the most expensive resource, we got to have the best ones, the right fit, the ones who can see through and understand what one has to take up and take on for that demanding task.
• We also realize that in teaching, we also learn a lot and we would like to be involved in more trainings and workshops for schools and other organizations this year.

Definitely this year, we will be better and what can you watch out for?

• In the course of our planning and implementation, segments of services and solutions shall be more refined and defined. This exactly implies that a well-rounded solution in Enterprise Security will be on the fly. More programs for Schools and SME’s and a more focused team that will run support systems.
• The Launch of the Integrated Solutions Program
• NITIX Blue in the Philippines
• And a new group will arise to serve and offer related products in line with our INTEL CHANNEL PARTNERSHIP.

And as sure as the sun shines each morning, we’ll carry on to face each endeavor with more care, more patience, more love for IT and for People.

That is because IT’s all about values, IT’s all about people…

Nalalala ko lang..matagal na panahon na rin na kung saan nagiging sikat yung mga salitang..”ILANG PURSYENTO NG KAPANGYARIHAN MO NA NAGAMIT MO”

Sa ngayon na aasociate yung mga katagang ito sa aming mga proyekto at mga pinagkakalibangan..pag nagkukwentuhan at medyo malanya ka dahil pagod ka na..makakarinig ka na o kamusta? Mukhang limang pursyento nalang ng kapanagyarihan meron ka ah..tapos minsan naman..pag nagcoconduct ka ng training na kung saan nagiging maganda at interactive ang kinalalabasan..sasabihan ka naman ng ayus ah..parang limang daaang pursyento yung ginamit mo ngayon..

Nakakatuwa lang, sa sa mga ganitong kataga at pamamaraan pwede palang makagaan ng pakiramdam lalo na pag pagod ka..isa syang stress fighter. Hehehe

Sa ngyon..medyo nadadalang yung pag susulat ko sa BLOG yung mga tula at mga kanta medyo nadadalang na din..medyo madami akong nasusulat na dokumento lately na patungkol sa mga reports na ginagawa ko sa mga client..mga manual at mga presentation materials para aming mga kustomer. Medyo kailangan maging maganda at madetalye na tama ang mga ito..kaya dito ako medyo nabababad nitong mga nakaraang araw,lingo ar buwan..laging mahigit dalawang daang pursyen yung inaalocate kong kapangyarihan tuwing gagawin ko ang mga bagay bagay na ito..para matapos agad at maibalik ko naman yung aking mga nakagisnan na pagsusulat ng tula at mga kanta..

O paano mga kapatid hanggang sa muli!
Promise ko naman sa sarili ko..di ko na ihihinto ang pag susulat patungkol sa mga bagay bagay..
