 I'm so happy watching our very own LMS called Aksyon Academy and our own version of Zoom called Walloo being used in San Juan by teachers and students.

I'm so proud of my team for their dedication on this platform. While all of them are busy maneuvering the platform, I'm also on the monitoring side

seeing the real-time data and analysis on what's goin on in the system and its performance. Powered by Opensource tools Zabbix and Grafana, it was really fun seeing the live data in action. Cool!

Overall, it's a perfect shot for all of us!

Again, it was really a heartwarming activity for our Community Pantry here in Kapitolyo, Pasig. This time, our group provided 500 plus gift packs and in less than 1 hr, ubos! No one was left behind.

I remember all the smiles from tricycle drivers, security guards, grab drivers and all our kababayan who fell in line in the community pantry while observing health protocols. 

 

Kudos to our security guards and to Brgy. Kapitolyo for providing tables and support for crowd control. Also, special thanks to those who contributed for this activity and to all individuals

who helped us in repacking the goods. It was really a priceless experience. Thank you so much and you all know who you are. 

 

Hanggang sa muli at 'wag kakalimutan. “Magbigay ayon sa kakayahan. Kumuha batay sa pangangailangan.”

 

 

Community Pantry in Kapitolyo, Pasig

Team 8layer, Maralabs, Mulat Media, MaraTel, in collaboration with Rotary Club of Midtown Diliman, have set up a Community Pantry in Kapitolyo, Pasig. 

It was really meaningful and we are all happy to see the smiles of our Kababayan. Rice, eggs, vegetables, sweet potatoes and corn ..even soy sauce, vinegar and patis are included in the gift packs.

We thank everyone who contributed to this program. Your efforts and donations are priceless! Let's continue doing this kind of intiative especially this pandemic.

Nakalabas ng muli si Mama sa Ospital

Kanilang madaling araw inilabas na si Mama sa ospital,maayos-ayos ng muli ang kanyang kalagayan. Hindi din biro ang mga nararamdaman namin...Saya at lungkot! Masaya kasi nakalabas na sya ng ospital, abaý mahigit isang buwan din sya ng ospital kasama ng aking kapatid na si

Rica Mara na hindi iniwan si Mama sa Ospital. (Wala akong masabi sa galing at husay ng pag-aarugang ibinigay mo kay Mama, Kaka..Maraming Salamat!)

Halos araw -araw din na nakikibalita lang kami na gamit ang teknolohiya eh nakaka pag-usap at nakakapag decide kami ng mabilis para sa aming magulang. Halo-halong eksena, Nangangamba,Nag-isisip, dumidiskarte,nagtatawanan, nag-oobserba atbp.

 

Masaya din ako kasi sa ganitong paraang nakita ko na nag-kakaisa at natutulungan kami ng aking mga kapatid na bukod kay Rica, nandyan din si Maricar. Manglungkot kasi sa kabila ng pag-babalik ng sigla ni Mama, alam namin na sa susunod (wag naman sana) ay mahihirapan na kaming makahanap ng ospital dahil sa panahon ngayon punuan,abala na ang mga doktor sa dami ng kaso ng Covid.Hindi din biro ang binabayad at binayad namin. Pilit kaming lumalaban para sa aming magulang, hanggat lumalaban sya, kamiý hinding-hindi titigil na lumaban din. Ngayon, naghahanap kami ng Nurse/Caregiver (kung may mga libre pa dyan at may mga kakilala kayo,paki PM lang po kami)

Malungkot kasi na sa kabila ng mga pag-subok na ito, may mga kamag-anak pa kami at kasama sa bahay na mas madami lang ang sinasabi kaysa ang gumanap. Imagine na may malaking pag-subok kami sa aming Nanay tapos may sumasabay na mga walang maitulong at nagiging pabigat. (May araw din kayo!!!isa-isa lang at mahina ang kalaban, ngayon ay ipag-dadasal nalang muna namin kayo)

Sa mga nanalangin para sa kaligtasan ng aming Nanay, Maraming Salamat! Hindi ko alam kung anong mga salita ang imumutawi ko sa inyong mga suporta. Sa mga kaibigan na tumulong sa amin, Maraming maraming Salamat!

Payak lang, 'wag ng exibitionist, ok?

Sa totoo lang masarap yung payak lang. Kung anong kaya doon lang tayo. Mahirap kasi kung panahon na ng pandemya, tag-tugom na ibang mga kababayan natin tapos tayo eh feeling galing-galingan kahit alam naman nating wala namang galing. Kung baga sa IT,Para kang nag ke-claim na programmer tapos hindi naman kaya at mukhang mag-bababoy ka naman. Masarap yung programmer ka,programmer ka. Mag babababoy ka, magbababoy ka. Para payak lang at hindi mukhang tanga, walang show-off,exibitionist lang yan style na yan. Kung consultant ka naman mag bigay ka ng mga mungkahe para sa ikakaganda ng pinag-ko-consuktant mo..hindi iyong tsismoso ka eh pangit ka na nga tapos walang sabi-sabi,ano ba yan? Sa umpisa lang. 'Wag ganun boy! Payak lang tayo (pwede ding sapakan kahit mala fight club lang). Walang kung ano-ano at ligoy-ligoy. Para gusto mong sagipin ang mundo tapos na salubsob ka lang,eh ayawan na,ano yun nanggamit lang? Labo nun! Payak lang tayo!

Tamang tao

    Sa point of view ng ibang tao. Ang kayamanan ng kumpanya ay ang mga tao at dapat 'wag itong papabayaan. Sa point of view ng mga may-ari ng kumpanya, alagaan lang ang mga "tamang" tao na naka align sa adhikain na syang tunay na kayamanan na hindi dapat pabayaan..gawing mong kasama at kanegosyo kung maari. Na lahat ng iyan ay nagdedepende din sa kapasidad ng isang kumpanya.

    Kaya ineencourage ko na mag tayo kayo ng kumpanya ng maranasan nyong mag-alaga ng tao at makatulong kayo sa ekonomiya (pag-nagawa nyo na..tsaka tayo magusap ng mga karanasan). Walang magagawa ang mga akala lalo ngayong may COVID19. Hanaping maigi ang lugar kung saan ninyo maeexercise ang inyong husay na nagbibigay halaga sa inyong sarili,pamilya,lipunan at bansa... higit sa iyong bulsa.

    Madami ding mga taong puro satsat lang ngunit wala namang ibubuga. Nagtayo ng kumpanya ngunit nagsasara at hindi makapag alaga ng mga tamang tao...tapos, magbubulalas na dapat alagaan ang mga tao na syang kayamanan ng kumpanya.

Mag-isip at gumanap ng marahan ngunit magkasilbi.

8Layer: Celebrating its 16th anniversary amid challenges this 2021

It was really hard for us to celebrate our 16th year in the industry as the pandemic affects us on how we work. We are in a serious national health crisis situation and most of us are praying just to survive this issue. The cases of COVID19 in our country is getting higher everyday. Some of our friends were not able to win the fight against it. Face mask, face shield, social distancing, video calling and work from home and so on and so forth are now the NEW NORMAL. Thank God, He is always there for us, guiding us and making sure that we are blessed to be the blessings to others.

I remember this quote from Sun Tzu.

“In the midst of chaos, there is also opportunity.” – Sun Tzu

We are just fortunate enough because we are gifted with this talent in technology and guided by our hearts to help this country in our own little ways. We are still alive and operating in this new normal.

Now even with COVID19, our country is getting worst because of traditional politicians. We are still here to continue to do our advocacy work and share our knowledge in the community.

We are actively and continuously doing our R&D to come up with new solutions to help this country.As for our expansion and hunger to deliver good solutions, we still have the bandwidth and desire to continuously look for Filipino developers who are concerned enough in helping this country, not just their working codes.

I'm very thankful to have a good and mature team, friends and consultants who are competent, professionals and dedicated to do their work and are always there to share their talents. And because of that, we were able to bring our methodology to the next level. It’s really a good steering wheel for us and it will keep us guided in the things that we intend to do.

As for my last message, I want to thank all our clients, partners, co-advocates, friends and families who help us fuel our operation, inspire us on the things that we do and give us the drive to do more. We owe this to all of you!

What to expect from us these coming years:

-We will be expanding our satellite offering to serve the underserved and to make sure that internet will be available to almost all areas of the Philippines.

-New version of our solutions will be launched for Cyber Security and Software Development.

-We will be active in IOT area and agri technology as we want to be of help and be of service in this field.

-We will start by recruiting more Geekineers and partners in the provinces to help us expand our operations.

We will always live by our mantra, “Be more, Be Useful and Be of Service.”

Para sa aming Nanay

Wala lang akong naririnig ng tilaok ng Manok ngunit mag 4am na din. Hindi pa din ako makatulog.
Kakatapos ko kasing makausap ang bunso naming kapatid na si Kaka at pinag-uusapan namin ang kondisyon ng aming Nanay. Nanunubalik sa akin ang mga nakaraan ng kanyang kalakasan. Nanumbalik din sa aking mga ala-ala  ang maayos na pag-tataguyod at mga pangaral sa amin magkakapatid. Tandang-tanda ko pa ang kanyang mga ngiti para sa pag-sisilbi para sa mga kababayan natin. Naging Kagawad din kasi sya at maraming oras ang kanyang itinatapon sa aming Barangay, para sa paglilingkod sa Bayan.

Kaya patuloy ko lang syang pinagdadasal sa kabila ng kanyang kasalukuyang kondisyon. Patuloy lang din ang pag-suporta sa para kayang mga pangangailangan. Ako at nga ngalan ang aming Pamilya, ay lubos ding nagpapasalamat sa inyong walang sawang panalangin para sa aking Nanay. Nawa'y gantimpalaan pa sya ng lakas upang mapaglabanan ang kanyang sitwasyon. Umaasa kaming hindi kami pababayan ng Pangioon sa laban na ito.

Hinahanda na din namin ang aming mga sarili sa muling pag-pasok nya sa Ospital para sa mga susunod na gamutan. Lahat ay gagawin para sa aming mahal na Nanay!
